LAGOS, Nigeria — The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church has announced that its landmark educational project, the Moses Orimolade University (MOU) in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, is scheduled to begin academic operations in 2026.
The announcement was made by Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, Chairperson of the C&S Centenary Anniversary Central Working Committee, during the church’s Centenary Lecture held recently in Lagos. The event, which marks the church’s 100 years of existence, served as a platform to reflect on its legacy and project its future mission.
According to Rev. Ajayi, who is also the founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church, the university project is currently 80 percent complete. She described the institution as a milestone achievement that underscores the church’s century-long commitment to human development and spiritual growth.
Moulding Future Leaders
Addressing the press on the sidelines of the lecture, Rev. Ajayi emphasized that the university is designed to address the current decline in societal moral values.
“The university will be a buffer against amoral behaviors, instilling in students the value orientation required to advance society,” she stated.
She further explained that the institution would prioritize character formation, ensuring that the church’s long-standing principles of holiness and discipline are reflected in the students it produces.
Global Vision and Expansion
The establishment of Moses Orimolade University is part of a broader strategic move by the C&S Church to strengthen its global mission and bridge-building efforts. Rev. Ajayi noted that the church is looking beyond Nigeria, aiming to expand its evangelical reach to Europe and the West.
“Schools are where we groom bold minds who can preach, evangelize, and confront the growing anomalies threatening humanity,” she added.
As the church celebrates its centenary, the upcoming launch of the university is seen as a pivotal step in “re-envisioning” the C&S fold, encouraging the global community to rediscover its roots while promoting genuine service to humanity.
With the 2026 target set, the university is expected to become a hub for academic excellence and spiritual leadership, carrying forward the name and legacy of the church’s founder, Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase.
